THE APPRENTICE

Ali Abbasi’s The Apprentice premiered on Monday May 20th at the Cannes Film Festival in official competition. It tells the story of a young Donald Trump as he is mentored by the notorious New York attorney Roy Cohn.

Set in the 1970’s and 80's the film has a strong visual style and a sound track very much of that time.

The film is an Irish, Danish and Canadian co-production with Tailored Films onboard as the Irish producer. All picture and sound post took place at Screen Scene & Ardmore Sound with Donal O’Kane and Sinead Cronin working on the grade and online and Colm Mullally on the sound mix.

Not surprisingly the film has stirred huge controversy with the Trump organisation already threatening to sue the film makers.

The cinema release is set for September just in time for the US Presidential Elections.
